Love and Resilience

Time seems to slip through our fingers like sand. There are moments when we find ourselves pausing, catching our breath, and reflecting on the beauty of life. Other times, things can certainly be hectic and, unfortunately, stressful. These past few weeks have been a testament to that reality for my family and me.

As I sit down to write this long overdue blog post, I can’t help but smile at the whirlwind of activity that has consumed our days as of late. Between the ongoing renovations of our beloved 1882 Victorian home and the perpetual energy of our two teenagers, our household has been a hive of constant motion.

In the midst of this busyness, however, I’ve found myself neglecting this space, my outlet. My absence has been a deliberate choice—a choice to carefully prioritize my time and energy to ensure that my focus remains where it matters most: my family.

Our home, with its rich history and timeless charm, has been undergoing transformations little by little for the past two years. It’s a labor of love that requires dedication and perseverance. While the dust settles and the paint dries, we rejoice in shared goals and collective efforts.

This year has brought many unfortunate challenges. It’s during these moments of adversity that the true strength of our family shines through. With unwavering love and support, we navigate through the uncertainties, finding comfort in the knowledge that we’re in this together.

Navigating the ever-changing landscape of parenting two teenagers is both exciting and hectic at times, as any parent will attest. Their boundless energy and zest for life keep us on our toes. It reminds us of the joy and unpredictability that come with raising children. Though it’s an adventure with its own set of challenges, our shared love for The Lord and the faith serve as our light. God illuminates our path and guides our steps. This year has truly tested us. But through it all, we’ve remained steadfast in our faith and diligent in our goals. With prayers whispered in the quiet moments, we’re weathering the storms hand in hand.

We have gone to great lengths this year to ensure the safety and well-being of our children. They are only getting older; soon, they will be adults and out of our hands. They have faced so much trauma, confusion, and turmoil for so long. We are steadfast in our commitment to providing them with the best guidance and support that we possibly can. Fostering an environment where they can grow into principled adults. Amidst the uncertainty, our unwavering determination remains focused on nurturing them to be pillars of integrity, kindness, and decency, no matter the adversities they face. Every good parent only wants happiness and a good life for their children.

As I bring this overdue blog post to a close, I want to express my gratitude—to God for keeping us happy and healthy, for watching over us and blessing us in ways I could not have predicted, to my family, for being the anchor that keeps me grounded; to our home, for bearing witness to our journey. In the midst of life’s busyness, let us never forget to cherish the moments that matter most.

Warmth and gratitude.
