Hey There Readers,
As a woman who loves to take care of herself – inside and out – I’ve decided to fully embrace the last few weeks of winter. Instead of getting bogged down by the cold and dreary weather, I’m determined to use this time for much-needed hibernation and relaxation. Even though I can’t wait for summer and all its joys – from swimming to soaking up the sun – I’m finding little ways to make the most of the winter season by romanticizing my life and my home. E.g., I make sure every time I take a shower, I have my robe and slippers waiting for me. Such a small detail that makes such a big difference. I put up some decorative drapes with lighting behind my bed, and I’m hanging art. Lighting makes such a difference, too. Towel warmers, shower mist, it really is the little things. Little things that make my home feel more like the things I love about luxury hotels.
I love getaways and going out of town for a weekend… I love vacations, but wouldn’t it be nice to have that feeling all the time? In your own home? I don’t know why I haven’t done these things sooner.
I decided to take a different approach this year and skipped all the “New Year, New Me” hype in January. I’ve learned from past experiences that I’m usually exhausted and drained by the end of the month. Maybe it has to do with the natural instinct to conserve energy during the colder months and hibernate until spring arrives. Hunkering down and weathering the storm until the world becomes bright and pleasant again.
I’m being proactive about my health by taking time to rest and recover from some unfortunate flu-like symptoms and daily sinus headaches. Although it’s been difficult, I’m grateful for the opportunity to prioritize my well-being and take care of myself.
I’m starting to feel somewhat restless but determined to push through. To break up the monotony the Mr. is taking me to see The Chosen Season 4: 1-3 this evening for date night, and I’ve so been looking forward to this.
UPDATE: The Chosen was amazing! The quality is still top-notch, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next episodes. The writers’ talent in creating an immersive experience is truly exceptional. And the fact that they’ve made Jesus so relatable as a human being is just mind-blowing! I’m trying so hard to avoid spoilers. I’m so excited to catch the upcoming episodes and see where the story takes us. I mean, we already know what’s going to happen, but it’s the journey that counts, right? I’m eagerly waiting to see how the creators bring it all to life on screen. Don’t you just love the feeling of anticipation?
